The name Rajpoot came into being after the "Rajpoots", a warrior race of Rajastan in Northern India. Rajpoots were the protectors of the Mughal Emperors.
Established in 1980, the Rajpoot Restaurant is divided into three parts, "The Old India", "India Cottage" and "Kamra", each with it's own character, fully air conditioned and offering a seating capacity for 90 diners.
Much thought has been given in designing this restaurant to ensure the classic theme of the food is enhanced by a suitably authentic atmosphere.
We are convinced the results would have been endorsed by the Mughal Emperors and will we trust, by the visiting Naswabs, Rajahs and Maharajas of the Indian sub-continent.
Indian cooking is an art
Indian cooking is an art, derived over the centuries from a variety of sources. Factors such as Religion, health, customs and even climatic conditions have played their part. Mealtimes in an Indian household are like ceremonial occasions. The food is a gift from the Deity and should be prepared with due respect.
Spices have medicinal and antiseptic properties. The spices are full of iron and Tandoori dishes are ideal for diet conscious people.
In this restaurant we present Tandoori, Mughlai and Bengali dishes as a sample of the variety of classic Indian food found in the Indian Sub-continent.
Much thought has been given in designing this Restaurant to ensure that the classic theme of the food is enhanced by a suitably authentic atmosphere.
We welcome your patronage and will be only too delighted to help with your selection.
